The accusation about the alleged negligence in the military service of Mino, a member of WINNER, comes a week before his discharge
This Tuesday, the 17th, the South Korean portal Dispatch (via Soompi) published an article revealing accusations that Song Minoa member of the boy group WINNER, is reportedly being investigated for possible neglect of his duties during mandatory military service.
It is worth remembering that Mino He enlisted in March 2023 and, after completing basic training, has served as a public servant. According to the publication, the report points out that the idol had fulfilled his duties at the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility (Mapo Social Welfare Center) inappropriately, registering his presence manually, facilitating falsification, in addition to justifying his absences such as annual leave or sick leave.
Despite the accusations published by the portal, the Mapo Social Welfare Center spoke out in defense of Minostating that the artist “served in accordance with the regulations”, and that he will publish an official publication with the institution’s position soon.
YG Entertainment, the company responsible for managing the career of Mino and WINNER, also defended the star, saying that the medical leave cited in the report is an “extension of the treatment he was receiving prior to his service” and that “all other leaves, including annual leaves, were used in accordance with the regulations.”
As reported by Soompi, Mino He worked at the Mapo Social Welfare Center for about a year after his enlistment. In March 2024, the idol was transferred to the Resident Welfare Facility, where he is currently serving. The artist’s dismissal is scheduled to take place on December 24th. So far, there is no information whether the recent accusations could affect the singer’s release date. The case remains ongoing.
