After his visit to the SBU, People’s Deputy Yuri Boyko recorded a new video for TikTok: he called Putin a war criminal and Russia an aggressor.
The politician, who has been promoting the “Russian world” in Ukraine for years, said that he asks for forgiveness from those who may have been offended by previous videos.
In them, he complained about radicals who demolish monuments and rename cities.
In the new video, Boyko also assured that his group of deputies “clearly defined their position back in February 2022” – and it is that “all of the deputies who remained in Ukraine must work for its victory and support the current government.” .
Before interrogation by the SBU, Boyko assured that he and his party would continue to support the government, and on TikTok he previously accused Petro Poroshenko of extremism during the war.
Boyko explained who he considers radicals. He says that the processes of demolition of monuments began during Poroshenko’s presidency.
He personally and the paramilitary groups that appeared in Ukrainian cities began this policy of fighting monuments and persecuting citizens on linguistic or religious grounds. It is these initiatives of street activists that we see today throughout Ukraine,” the deputy said.
He added that in the context of the current war with Russia, the destruction of monuments and the fight against the past are “unacceptable.”
