Check out the best k-pop songs released in 2024 chosen by 200 South Korean industry experts
2024 is already coming to an end and, with New Year’s Eve approaching, numerous international vehicles focused on the music industry have released their lists with the main releases of the year.
Last month, the South Korean magazine JoyNews214 (via Koreaboo), in celebration of its twentieth anniversary, released a survey that included the participation of 200 industry professionals, responsible for listing the five biggest K-pop releases this year, in your opinion.

1. “Supernova” — aespa
Among the 200 experts who participated in the survey, 93 voted to elect “Supernova”, aespa’s most recent comeback, as the best song released in 2024. Among the arguments, critics cite the “perfection and dependence” of the song, in addition to the power aespa’s presentation, as factors responsible for making the track one of the biggest hits of the year.
2. “Bam Yang Gang” — BIBI
With 42 votes, “Bam Yang Gang”, by the soloist BIBIwent viral on social media after its release, both inside and outside South Korea, being responsible for showing a moment of transition for the artist. In addition to going viral on the internet, the song also earned BIBI his first win on a South Korean music show.
3. “HAPPY” — DAY6
In third place on the JoyNews214 list is the track “HAPPY”, by the band DAY6, with 17 votes. The song, which is a b-side from the album “Fourever”, released in March, started to gain popularity after NMIXX, a girl group that is also part of JYP Entertainment, performed a cover of the song at a show in August. According to experts, the main charms of the song are the “cheerful and hopeful melody, the twist in the lyrics that added a sad sympathy, the exciting high notes and the sound of the band”.
4. “Plot Twist” — TWS
With 9 votes, fourth place was won by the boy group TWS, from PLEDIS Entertainment, with their debut track “Plot Twist”, the title track of their first mini-album “Sparkling Blue”. The song, which currently has more than 36 million views on its YouTube clip, also became popular among listeners shortly after its release.
5. “Love Wins All” — IU
Finally, fifth place on the list was occupied by the song “Love Wins All”, a track by the soloist UI which features the special participation of Vby BTS, in their music video. In addition to the incredible chemistry of the duo, who play a couple trying to stay together in a post-apocalyptic world in the music video, the song has received countless praise from fans and experts, being considered the best release of UI in the year.
Other tracks also mentioned in the list are: “How Sweet” (NewJeans), “Walk” (NCT 127), “Feel the Pop” (ZEROBASEONE) and “Fate” ((G)I-DLE).
