We’re cooking to get you in the festive mood this week ginger menlittle men stuffed with spreads.
Cinnamon, clove, or even nutmeg-scented Christmas cookies and their festive scents are a must every year.A treat enjoyed under the tree or for a snack, with the silhouette of stars or little men, a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages.
Indeed, the ancestor of Christmas cookies would be none other than gingerbread, which was born from the arrival of the latter, sugar and dried fruit in Europe and, in particular, in Nuremberg, Germany, at the intersection of two major trade routes, in the 13th century, for example lebkuchencakes with honey and spices, as we may read in the columns National Geographic . Over the years, depending on the cultures and their local produce, Christmas cookies have been available in a thousand and one shapes and flavors.
This week we’re choosing something unbeatable gingerbread men. Crispy little guys with a nice buttery flavor, spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and honey.We garnish them with our favorite spread for fun. Enjoy with salted caramel hot chocolate.
Recipe for: gingerbread men filled with spread
Ingredients:
- 280 g of flour
- 130 g of butter
- 80 g of brown sugar
- 50 g of sugar
- 50 g of honey
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon anise powder (optional)
- 1 pinch of baking soda
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100 g spread

The steps
Prepare the cookie dough
Melt the butter. Beat eggs with brown sugar, sugar, honey and melted butter. Add the remaining ingredients and knead. As soon as the mass becomes homogeneous, form 2 balls and put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour, wrapped in a film.
Cooking
Heat the oven to 180°C. Roll the dough to a thickness of 3 mm. Using a cookie cutter or cookie cutter, cut out about 16 men’s cookies and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Ending
Assemble the men’s cookies with cream.If desired, decorate with royal icing, sugar or icing sugar.
