Important institutions will continue to receive electricity regardless of the availability of debts.
In Ukraine, the rules for disconnecting debts from electricity are tight. The lawsuit will not stop shutdown. This was reported by the NKRECP press service.
On August 5, 2025, the National Commission for Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Communal Services (NKRECP) approved draft changes in the vote of energy. The goal is to ensure the discipline of payment to non -production consumers.
According to the draft decision, opening the proceedings in the case of a court decision will no longer be the basis for suspension at the end of the power supply. It should avoid the abuses of debtors who to this day use judicial mechanisms to prevent shutdown.
Changes are associated with retail market policies. The decision aims to increase consumer responsibility and protect those who pay diligently.
Restrictions do not apply to critical matter in infrastructure. This, in particular, hospitals, heat supply businesses, water equipment and defense facilities. Their protection is guaranteed by the law “in the electric energy market”, resolving Cabinet No. 833 of July 14, 2025 and the current policies.
Thus, important institutions will continue to receive electricity regardless of debt.
As the NKRECP emphasized, even after approved by new policies, unproductive consumers have the opportunity to avoid connectivity. The supplier is obliged to warn about closing writing at least 10 business days.
In addition, the law allows you to apply to the court with a statement on the provision of a lawsuit, for example, with a request for banning the supplier to terminate the power supply. However, the reality of opening the production without resolution in a prohibition on actions will no longer prevent the connectivity process.
NKRECP added that changes are designed to stimulate timely calculations and improve business discipline. These changes also protect participants’ interests in the Bona Fide Market that fulfill their obligations and calculate for electricity consumed at the time.
Previously, the national commission, which brought state regulation to the field of energy and utility (NKRECP), at a meeting on July 25, raised 1.6 times the maximum price on the electricity market (the so -called price boxes) during the night hours.
Remember that since June 1, 2024, electric tariffs have grown in Ukraine. The Ministers Cabinet set a single fixed electricity price for population 4.32 UAH/KWh.
It is also reported that the government has almost double the power tariff for Ultra -High volumes.
