Recently, the drummer of the band DAY6, Dowoonbecame involved in a controversy after sharing on his social networks some videos in which he played the drums while wearing a military uniform, generating negative reactions from some fans due to the recent political scenario in South Korea, in addition to articles in the Korean press.
Interpreting it as something insensitive and bad for the band’s image, some fan statements call for the drummer to leave the group, due to the disappointment they felt when seeing the posts, while there are several protests across the country in favor of democracy and rejecting the Korean army’s position in the last political episode, in which the president Yoon Suk Yeolimposed martial law in the country.

On the other hand, internet users saw these requests as exaggerated, coming out in defense of the artist and his stay at DAY6.
After that, JYP Entertainment, the company that manages the band, took a position on the case through an official statement published on X, formerly Twitter, this Monday, 9th. The agency claims that much of the information released about Dowoon were imprecise, in addition to emphasizing the intention to approach the problem with determination.

Recently, false information about DAY6 member Dowoon was spread and reproduced indiscriminately. In response, our company intends to take a firm stance against the malicious creation and spread of baseless rumors about DAY6 and its members.
Even after this warning, if such actions – such as spreading false information, amplifying rumors or reproducing them without basis – continue to harm the honor and dignity of our artists, we will respond with strict legal action.
We are fully committed to protecting our artists and reiterate that we will take all available legal action without any leniency or compromise.
