Liam Payne, who died aged 31, had his body taken back to his home country 22 days after the tragic incident in a Buenos Aires hotel
This Thursday, 7th, the body of Liam Payne arrived in England, three weeks after the singer died, on October 16, after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he was staying, Casa Sur, located in Palermo Hollywood, a neighborhood in Argentina.
The Argentine police remained in custody of the singer’s body until the autopsy was completed, while awaiting the results of toxicological tests to release him. With the release, last Wednesday, 6th, the father of Liam, Geoff Payneaccompanied the body on the flight made by British Airways, which made a stopover in Rio de Janeiro to change aircraft, before arriving in London.
Funeral
Information about the wake has not been officially released. Even so, a friend of the singer, whose identity was not revealed, spoke to the British newspaper Daily Mail (via Revista Quem) stating that Payne will have a “memorable farewell”.
“Liam will have a memorable farewell, probably in a large cathedral. He was extremely loved by many people, and there will certainly be a huge demand for the event, which will be grand,” said the source.
Furthermore, The Mirror UK newspaper and Radar Online reported that the funeral is expected to be attended by many celebrities, “as he [Payne] was well-loved in the showbiz community” and that “a series of song tributes” may also take place at the event.
It is worth remembering that Liamwho passed away at the age of 31, left a 7-year-old son, Bearwhich is the result of his relationship with the British singer Cheryl Cole, with whom he shared his life between 2016 and 2018. In 2022, Payne started a romance with the influencer Kate Cassidy. The relationship lasted until his tragic death.
