Actor played Thanos in films such as “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014), “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) and “Avengers: Endgame” (2019)
The actor Josh Brolinwould be in negotiations with Marvel Studios to return to the role he played in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Thanos franchises!
As revealed by insider MyTimeToShineHello (via Omelete), the artist may appear painted purple again in “Avengers: Doomsday”, a film that is part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and which is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026 .
It is worth remembering that Thanos first appeared in the “Avengers” (2012) post-credits, appearing in “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014) and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015), before emerging as the main villain of “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) and “Avengers: Endgame” (2019).
Will Iron Man become Doctor Doom?
Even though the return of Brolin is supposedly in negotiations, Marvel fans already have confirmation: Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU. The revelation came during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), where it was revealed that the former Iron Man interpreter will now play a villain: Victor von Doom, Dr. Doom, one of the greatest comic book villains.
The character will be introduced on the big screen through “Avengers: Doomsday”, which will feature the return of directors already known in the MCU: the brothers, Anthony and Joseph Russowho helmed “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
In the comics, Dr. Doom, arch-enemy of Marvel’s First Family, is introduced in the fifth issue of the Fantastic Four magazine, by Stan Lee and Jack Kirbylaunched in 1962.
However, the first character played by Downey Jr. in a film Marvel has his image linked to Victor von Doom much later, in ‘Infamous Iron Man’, released in 2018.
