Since confirming Gaga During production, many fans have been wondering whether or not the film will be a musical. In March of this year, Variety stated that the film would feature 15 songs, and in 2023, the actress Zazie Beetzwho plays Sophie Dumond, stated that the public will be surprised by the relationship that the story will have with the music.
“I think people are going to be surprised. I don’t think it’s going to be what they expect, as far as being musical. We all express ourselves musically and dance in our everyday lives. I think it’s going to work really well.”
RECREIO has already seen the film and can confirm that “Joker: Delirium for Two” is a musical, however, the scenes with music are presented in a slightly different way from the classic musicals we are used to watching.
This is because, most of the scenes in which Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) he is (Lady Gaga) sing, reflect a moment of delirium among the characters — like when the Joker hears on television that the prosecutor would seek the death penalty in his case.
Although the scenes with music are justified in the plot, if you are not a fan of films with many songs, go to the cinema aware that a large part of the film is made up of musical scenes.
Furthermore, the songs present in the film are also part of the most recent album by Lady Gaga“Harlequin”, which features re-recordings and some new tracks. Listen!
