First project with all members in about four years, GFRIEND promises to celebrate 10 years of debut with a gift to fans
The news that K-pop fans have been waiting for is finally here: GFRIEND is reuniting! The group is preparing for a new project, which is scheduled to be released in January 2025, the date on which the group celebrates 10 years since its debut.
The information was confirmed by Source Music, the agency through which the group debuted in January 2015, after the JoyNews24 portal reported that Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji would be planning something for next year, as reported by the Soompi portal.
“In January next year, GFRIEND plans to greet fans with a project to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary. The members’ desires to gift a precious memory to BUDDYs (GFRIEND’s official fan club) have come together to successfully carry out this project. Please show great anticipation and support,” said Souce Music in response to JoyNews24’s report.
It is worth remembering that the septet’s contracts expired in May 2021 and, shortly thereafter, the company announced the disbandment of the formation, in addition to the departure of all members of the agency, causing GFRIEND’s most recent release to happen in November 2020, with the album “Walpurgis Night” and the MV for the track “MAGO”.
