This Wednesday, the 4th, fans of the games and the character Sonic created a petition entitled “#AVozQueOShadowMerece”, which has as its main objective to bring Shadow’s original voice actor to Brazil, Reginald Primofor “Sonic 3”, the new film in the franchise.
In addition to the petition, the absence of Reginald Primo has caused widespread debate on social media, including edits of the trailer with his voice, and a campaign that started on X (formerly Twitter), and is now on the Bluesky network, chosen by many Brazilians as a replacement for the social network that was suspended in Brazil.
This is the first appearance of the character Shadow in the new film of the franchise, which opened in 2020. At the time, the main character’s appearance was also the target of criticism, resulting in a change between the first trailer and the release of the film. In the screenshot, it is possible to see that the publication criticizes the first version of Sonic in the live-action, which was changed after much criticism from fans:
As of yet, no updates on the petition have been released, leaving Shadow’s voice in the hands of Reynaldo Buzzoniwho is known for dubbing the actor’s voice Keanu Reeves.
