After ADOR removed Min Hee Jin from her position as CEO, the businesswoman’s representative also issued a statement regarding the decision.
On Tuesday, the 27th, ADOR announced that Min Hee Jin will no longer act as CEO of the agency which is a subsidiary of HYBE and a new holder for the position has already been chosen: Kim Joo Youngan HR (human resources) specialist.
In the official statement, the company stated that Hee Jin will remain at ADOR as internal director and will continue to oversee production for the label’s first group, NewJeans.
Read the translation of the statement:
We at ADOR would like to inform you of the following.
On August 27, we held a board meeting and appointed Kim Joo Young, ADOR’s internal director, as the new CEO.
Newly appointed CEO Kim Joo Young is an HR expert with experience across multiple industries and will be responsible for stabilizing and reorganizing ADOR’s internal structure.
Former CEO Min Hee Jin has stepped down as CEO but will continue to serve as ADOR’s internal director. She will also continue her role in NewJeans production.
Furthermore, ADOR’s internal organization will now separate production and management. This is in line with the multi-label operating principle that has been consistently applied to all other labels, although ADOR was previously an exception, where the CEO oversaw both production and management.
With this personnel and organizational restructuring, ADOR plans to fully support the growth and further success of NewJeans.
Thanks.”
Regarding ADOR’s statement, a representative of Min Hee Jin told Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today (via Soompi): “[Min Hee Jin] was suddenly notified on Saturday, 24th [agosto] that a board meeting would be held on 27th [agosto] about a change in the CEO position, and she attended the meeting by phone on 27 [agosto].”
The decision to dismiss CEO Min Hee Jin was made unilaterally without her consent, which is a clear violation of the shareholders’ agreement,” the representative explained. “The company announced that CEO Min Hee Jin would continue to produce for NewJeans, but this was not discussed with her and is a unilateral notification by the company,” he concluded.
