Actor Xolo Maridueña is a One Piece fan favorite to play the iconic Portgas D. Ace in the live-action version; find out more!

With filming for the second season of the live-action One Piece series underway, fans have already begun to share their excitement and anticipation regarding who will play the iconic character Portgas D. Ace, the brother of protagonist Luffy in the anime and manga.

One of the audience’s favorites for the role is the actor Xolo Maridueñawho became known after playing the DC superhero “Blue Beetle” and bringing to life the character Miguel Diaz in the Netflix series “Cobra Kai”. Through a live on TikTok, he revealed that he wants to play Ace, but that, despite this, he needs to go through the audition like everyone else:

It’s a dream, but at the same time, things have to happen the right way. I have to audition. I have to go through the same steps as everyone else. Unless they’re like, “Hey, this guy is perfect.”

The second season of “One Piece: The Series” does not yet have a set release date, but Netflix’s social media profiles are always updating fans about the production. One of the latest news was the reveal of the name of the first episode of the second part, entitled “The Beginning and The End”, as the series’ script says; check it out!
