The first season of The Squid Game was released on Netflix in September 2021 and became an instant hit. In the first month alone, it was watched by over 111 million viewers.
South Korean TV series Squid Game will return to the screens in December 2024. This was revealed by one of the main characters of the project, Lee Chong Che, reports Business Insider.
Previously, series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told fans that the second season was planned to be filmed in the summer of 2022. He then hinted that the main character Song Ki-hoon and the host of the game , who hid his face under a mask until the end of the season, will reappear here.
The plot of the second season has yet to be revealed, but fans speculate that they will once again see a group of contestants risking their lives to compete in deadly games for a chance to win a cash prize 45.6 billion won.
The main character Gi Hoon will abandon his plans to go to the United States to be reunited with his daughter. But he wants revenge on the mysterious group behind the games.
It was previously reported that HBO Max has published the official trailer for the second season of the series House of the Dragon.
