BLACKPINK’s Jennie makes history on the Billboard Hot 100 chart

Jennie, member of the girl group BLACKPINK, broke a new record with her solo career on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Find out!

Last Tuesday, 14th, Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, broke a new record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the song “One of the Girls”. Collaboration with the singer The Weeknd and the actress Lily-Rose Depp is part of the soundtrack for Max’s original series “The Idol”, in which the three star together. The track debuted its 20th week on the Hot 100, now occupying the 97th position.

With this achievement, Jennie became the first Korean solo singer in history to keep a song for 20 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. The only other Korean song in the K-Pop genre that managed to beat this record was the soloist’s hit “Gangnam Style”. PSYwhich spent 31 straight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 after going viral in 2012.

Debuting in 2016 through the girl group BLACKPINK, Jennie is considered one of the most influential artists of the generation. His solo career began in 2018 with the track “SOLO”, where the MV surpassed one billion views on YouTube.

His most recent release as a soloist came two weeks ago with the single “SPOT!”, a collaboration with South Korean rapper ZICO. Watch the MV below:
