“Avatar 3” will be the third film in the franchise directed by James Cameron, and is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025 in theaters
Rumors that the third film in the Avatar franchise would be titled “Avatar: The Seed Bearer” were put to rest by the film’s producer, Jon Landauin an interview with Comic Book (via Jovem Nerd).
In this ocasion, Landau did not reveal the true title of the production, but made it clear that the information that was gaining traction was false. “I am qualified to say that this is not the title of Avatar 3. Is that what my Wikipedia page says? That’s going to change tonight!” he revealed.
With no title or synopsis revealed, the new film should introduce a new Na’vi clan, this time exploring a volcanic area of Pandora. The premiere, previously scheduled for 2024, was postponed for around a year and set for December 19, 2025, as more time is needed for post-production, especially visual effects, to achieve the expected result, as revealed by Landau on X (formerly Twitter) in June this year.
