In an interview, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, answered one of the biggest questions about the future of Iron Man in the MCU
Bad news for those who hoped to seeRobert Downey Jr., as Tony Stark, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again! That’s because, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feigerevealed that neither Iron Man nor the original Avengers team will live new adventures in the MCU.
Let’s keep that moment and not touch it again,” Feige said in an interview with Vanity Fair. [via THR e Omelete], about Stark’s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. “We’ve all worked hard for years to get to that moment, and we don’t want to magically undo it in any way.”
It is worth remembering that the MCU began with the film “Iron Man”, released in theaters in 2008. From then on, the hero appeared in several films in the franchise, helping to build the beloved Infinity Saga, which has twenty-three movies, in total.
The Infinity Saga had as one of its key points the war against Thanos, the titan who wants the power of the jewels to exterminate half of the population of the universe, since, according to his belief, this will save the universe from being destroyed by over crowded.
Thus, in the final battle against Thanos, seen in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), Tony sacrifices himself to save humanity, reversing the titan’s blip, which had annihilated half the universe, and ending, at that moment, his participation in the MCU.
