Insiders reveal possible new emotions from ‘Inside Out 2’

Announced at the end of last year, the sequel to the film “Inside Out” is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2024 and, last weekend, it gained some news revealed by industry insiders that excited fans on social media.

Through X (formerly Twitter), the insider CanWeGetToast revealed that the new film will feature four new emotions from Riley. They are: Shame, Envy, Boredom and Anxiety. The original post says:

“🍞 TOAST EXCLUSIVE 🍞

Some new emotions will make their debut in Riley’s mind as she goes through puberty in #InsideOut2:

Anxiety, Envy, Boredom and Jealousy will join Joy, Anger and Sadness as they try to coexist in the complicated mind of a teenager.

Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling, who voiced Fear and Disgust respectively, will not return due to contractual issues.”

Despite the revelation about the departure of the original voice actors for Medo and Disgust, the insider did not disclose whether the two emotions will only gain new voices, or will not participate in “Inside Out 2”. Likewise, the actors responsible for voicing the four new characters were also not revealed.

In February this year, Pete Docterdirector of Pixar, defended the production of the sequel during an interview with the portal The Wrap, where he stated that a new film was necessary to “explore new emotions”, since human beings have “5 to 27 different emotions”.
