“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” premieres on December 20th on Disney+
Scheduled to premiere on December 20th on Disney+, the series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is one of the most anticipated productions of the year. Inspired by books written by Rick Riordanin a recent interview, the production director, James Bobinrevealed that the episodes may contain some differences from the work.
“I think there is a mix of these things. We take great care and love these books for a reason. I remember reading the script for the first time, and it said, ‘Percy Jackson, 12 [anos]’, and I was like, ‘OK, good. It’s a good start,” Bobin told CBR.
James continued his speech by stating that “The world from the point of view of a 12-year-old child is emotionally complex, and that is complicated. But yes, there will be a lot of youthful excitement. There will be little things that leave [os fãs] satisfied, because it’s a choice we made to make things a little different from the book.”
It is worth remembering that the first season of the series should present the events of the first book in the saga, “The Lightning Thief”. The official synopsis reads: “The fantastic story of a modern-day 12-year-old demigod, Percy Jackson, who is just beginning to come to terms with his supernatural powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. Now, Percy will need to cross America to find the weapon and restore order to Olympus.”
The main trio will be played by Walker Scobell like Percy Jackson, Leah Jeffries playing Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri will be Grover Underwood. The other young people from Camp Meio-Sangue will be Charlie Bushnell in the role of Luke Castellan and Dior Goodjohn such as Clarisse La Rue, in addition to Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, a girl from Percy’s “normal” life.
