Starring Xuxa, “Uma Fada Veio Me Visitar”, adapts the book by Thalita Rebouças to the screen
Scheduled to hit theaters on October 12th, the film “A Fairy Came to Visit Me” will mark the return of Xuxa Meneghelto theaters after 14 years away from the big screen — and the return will be triumphant. This is because the artist will be the main protagonist of the plot, which adapts the book of the same name by Thalita Rebouçasbeside Tontom Périssé.
The feature film will bring the enchantment and beauty of the fairy world, where Xuxa will be the Armadillo Fairy, a character who has been dormant for more than three decades as punishment for her messes, but to solve Luna’s case (Tontom Périssé), a tireless and rebellious teenager, she is the right candidate for the mission.
But why was Xuxa chosen to be the star of the film?
The answer was given by Thalita Rebouçaswho in addition to being the author of the work that inspires the film, also wrote the script in partnership with Patricia Andrade and is cast as the Catalog Fairy. The author says that Xuxa is her inspiration from the concept of a fairy since her childhood, so, unlike the book released in 2011, where the protagonist was linked to references from the 60s, now, the right choice was to set her in the 80s, having a connection even bigger with the eternal Queen of Shorties.
Xuxa is the sovereign queen of the 80s. So, she uses and abuses things from that decade, like her costumes. It was really fun to have Xuxa as a doll, to be able to think: ‘Can you imagine Xuxa from Boy George? From Cindy Lauper?’ Her willingness to be part of this was really cool. It was a very pleasant process to adapt and write the script together with the team. ‘A Fairy Came to Visit Me’ is super faithful to my book and is exactly how I always imagined it. I always wanted Xuxa to play the Armadillo Fairy, she’s my lifelong fairy”, she comments.
Furthermore, Xuxa also revealed that she shared with Thalita the desire to bring Fada Fatu to life while celebrating her return to cinemas. “Returning to the big screen is always ‘magical’, even more so with Thalita’s script and story… it’s incredible! I already knew the book and Thalita and I wanted me to be the Armadillo Fairy. This will was kept in a special place”, she detailed.
Xuxa still tells how he felt when recording the scenes that will help tell the story that carries the mythology of the world of fairies, where they all have their functions and are predestined to help humans achieve their destinies, in addition to revealing what their desires are for those who have the chance to watch the plot.
I love the story, I loved filming it, I loved meeting Tontom Périssé, who is killing it, and I sincerely hope that everyone has fun. I’m going to drop a magic dust called ‘whoever watches the film will have their dreams come true’ (laughs). May this film bring lightness, joy and magical moments. Desire is word,” he declares.
It is worth remembering that the film, which, in addition to Xuxa It is Thalitaalso brings Zezeh Barbosa, Dani Calabresa It is Livia Inhudes like fairies, got a new poster starring the 5 actresses. Look!
