“Pennyworth: The Rise of Alfred” is the new production of the DC Universe in partnership with Warner Channel
Entitled “Pennyworth: The Rise of Alfred”, the new series of the Universe A.D on Warner Channel, will hit the small screen on September 6, to follow the life of Alfred Pennyworth before working for the Batman family, as well as the development of his relationship with the future father of the Dark Knight, Thomas Wayne.
Who is Alfred Pennyworth?
Featured in comics, over the decades, Alfred Pennyworth has been an essential pillar in the Batman story that takes shape in comics, movies, series and animations. Known simply as Alfred, his presence is as crucial as that of the villains themselves, and several actors have embodied this unforgettable role for fans of this universe.
Thus, in “Pennyworth: The Origin of Alfred” it is possible to know more about the butler’s youth, which appears differently from what is usually engraved in our memory. That’s because the DC series follows in the footsteps of Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a 20-something former British SAS soldier, who founds a security company in London in the 1960s and starts working with Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), at a time when he is not yet the father of Bruce Wayne.
As episodes air, the series demonstrates a remarkable amount of creativity by constantly switching between the real London and a fictionalized version of the city. On the other side of the ocean, of course, is Gotham City, an inevitable convergence point for all stories. The arduous process of connecting with the Batman universe gives the series a look that is both different and familiar.
In the list, in addition to Bannon It is Aldridge“Pennyworth” features performances by Emma Paetz, Hainsley Lloyd Bennet, Ryan Fletcher,Dorothy Atkinson, Paloma Faith It is Jason Flemyng.
Described as a prequel to Batman, “Pennyworth: The Rise of Alfred” hits the screens of Warner Channel on September 6 at 10:30 pm. Check out some pictures of the plot!
