Tim Allen, the official voice actor for Buzz Lightyear, revealed in an interview a bit of the development process for the fifth Toy Story movie
Disney announced earlier this year that it will release some sequels to its biggest hits. Among the titles, it was guaranteed that “Toy Story” will win its fifth film – which took many fans of the studio and Pixar by surprise.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the actor Tim Allen, the official voice actor for the character Buzz Lightyear, described the development of the new toy stories as “kind of quirky”. The star commented that the fifth film of “Toy Story” was already being developed a long time before the announcement to the public, or even the debut of “Lightyear”, a spin-off of the franchise.
Toy Story 5 had been planned for a long time, but we just couldn’t get into it. Then Disney announced this about two months ago. I made friends with everyone in Toy Story, especially Tom Hanks [intérprete de Woody]. So I am blessed to have these friends in my life. I love this character. I love this story. So I always wait to see the script,” Allen revealed.
The actor completed saying that “They made it up. I think it’s getting close and I said that unless it could have been done really well, I know the team didn’t want to do it. So none of us could mention any of it. Even when the spin-off came out, all of that was on the line. So it was kind of quirky. That’s all.”
It is worth remembering that, after the confirmation of the feature, many fans showed their dissatisfaction with the news, as they believe that a sequel is not necessary. Therefore, Pete Doctor, director of Pixar, defended the feature that still does not have a release date, much less a revealed plot. He revealed in a chat with The Wrap that “it has some really fun stuff that you haven’t seen before.”
