Great honor”
Miss Figaro. – How did you feel last night when you took the stage to receive the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award?
Morfid Clarke. – I still can’t believe I got this award. I am so excited and overwhelmed. I’m actually quite scared when I get on stage to speak for myself. So just before my intervention the team Madame Figaro encouraged me backstage and said: “You can do it.” It is a great honor and I am very happy to receive this award.
Acting is not an individual pursuit. I am constantly inspired by my loved ones.

You trusted Madame Figaro that you admire the previous winners of this cup…
Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal people) is simply wonderful, Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) is fantastic, as is Phoebe Dynevor (Chronicle of Bridgerton). I love watching what they play and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
When you received the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, you thanked your agent Kate and your sister for being there for you. How do they support you every day?
Acting is not an individual pursuit. I am constantly inspired by my loved ones. I have always discussed the characters I play with my sister. He is very clever. he really brought them to a new level. As for Kate, she got me amazing roles, introduced me to a lot of people, got me to read the right scripts. He really encouraged me and took care of me over the years.
imaginary worlds
JRR Tolkien, author Lord of the Rings , holds a special place in your heart. why
For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of imaginary worlds, and I think it has to do with human affairs;heroic fantasy which I read and watched. These magical universes gave me a sense of security. When I was little, my father read to me The Hobbit and many other fantastic stories and they were a refuge for me. They bring me a kind of peace.

How did you prepare for the role of Galadriel, your character? Rings of power ?
I practiced a lot before doing my tricks. I was especially engaged in rock climbing. Especially since Galadriel is an elf and these creatures are elite in terms of physical prowess. My filming partners and I also listened to audiobooks on Middle Earth. If you saw us listening to something on the street, it wasn’t music, but works by J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe. This allowed us to immerse ourselves in this imaginary world and soak up its atmosphere.
What is your best shooting memory?
I loved running through the woods. I had never ridden a horse before, so the closest thing to magic for me was climbing like an elf. But now that I’ve ridden through the woods, I find it incredible.
Audacity and courage
What do you have in common with your character? What makes you different?
Many things distinguish me from Galadriel. I don’t think I have the same thirst for power. I don’t see myself in any other profession than actress, because I like directing directors, being a kind of mediator with the public. I also had to get rid of this tendency to shrink myself, to appear softer, that I sometimes have as a woman, because it doesn’t fit the character of Galadriel. As for what I have in common with him, I have always liked mythical creatures. They are different from others and I think a lot of people feel like they are a little off. In any case, I would like to be more like Galadriel. He is brave and bold.

Did you expect the series to receive such a positive response from the public?
Before the show came out, I was terrified (laughs). I’ve been on stage many times, I’ve done several films that were released shortly after shooting, but there was a long post-production period for this project. The teams did a great job, but the wait was almost unbearable. Once Rings of power came out, I released the pressure. His success was no longer in our hands. Now, I love reading fan theories and seeing them create different communities around the show.
Back to school
What do you love most about making a TV series that you wouldn’t necessarily find on a movie set?
They are two very different things. What appealed to me about being an actress was that once a movie was done, you could move on to the next project. But it’s just as interesting to star in a TV series. When we get back on set to shoot a new season, it feels like it’s back to school. It’s precious when I can find my character and the other cast members.
I cry a lot before the series
Morfid Clarke
What’s the best series you’ve seen this year?
It is English: United in revenge, a BBC series. It tells the story of an Englishwoman who lands in the wild west of the United States to seek revenge on the man she believes is responsible for her son’s death. The cast is great and it’s one of the most moving shows I’ve ever seen. I remember after watching the last episode I went shopping and I started crying thinking about it. I cry a lot before the series (Laughs).
What is your favorite TV series of all time?
It is Black sails, a show focused on pirates. That’s background Treasure Island, with great actors and amazing stunts. Also, pirates are so cool…
