For Mother’s Day, this Sunday, March 19, 2023, King Charles III was thinking of Queen Elizabeth II. He shared a souvenir photo, which did not fail to respond to the fans of the royal family.
Mother’s Day, celebrated this Sunday March 19 across the Channel (and June 6 in France, editor’s note) reeks of nostalgia for King Charles III. It’s been six months since Queen Elizabeth II died at her home in Balmoral, Scotland. On this particular day, the new sovereign wanted to pay tribute to the late monarch by sharing a vintage photo with him on social media of the British royal family.
“To all the mothers around the world, and those who may be missing theirs today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a very special Mother’s Day,” the post read. The monarch is pictured in an elegant maroon dress adorned with a pearl necklace, with Charles III and then a baby boy on her knees.
Prince Harry is similar
A second shot accompanies this one. This time we see Queen Consort Camilla with her own mother, Rosalind Cubitt, who died in 1994 aged 72.
The most touching tribute did not make royal fans react. “Have you noticed how much Harry looks like the King when he was a child?”, “Prince Harry and his children look so much like the King”, “I see Harry in this photo” can we read in the comments?
