Trailer: EHPAD and Generation Clash in Andrea Besconde and Eric Metayer’s New Film As You Grow Up

Intergenerational dialogue is at the core When you’re olderThe new feature film by the Andrea Bescond-Eric Metayer duo, to whom we owe a huge Tickleswas honored at Deauville and won César Awards for Best Adaptation and Best Supporting Actress for Karine Viard.

In a nursing home with an ever-shrinking budget, Yannick (Vincent McCain), a caretaker, somehow manages to function despite degraded conditions and pressures, facing adversity with good humor and enthusiasm. However, his daily life is disrupted when he sees the arrival of schoolchildren in the canteen of the facility for the elderly. The noise and chaos of these young children, framed by Audi (Aïssa Maïga), their middleman, will shake up the routine of everyone and especially the pensioners who live there.

This dramatic comedy is primarily concerned with the human, the meeting of two worlds: youth and old age, but also with the harsh working conditions of caregivers and accompanying students. In addition to Macain and Maiga, who play the two main roles, we meet Evelyn Istria, Christian Siniger, Kristen Bilon and Marie Gillen in the cast.
