During the red carpet of the Producers Union award, held last Saturday, 25, the actress Jamie Lee Curtis confirmed in an interview for Variety magazine that “Freaky Friday”, a Disney feature that starred alongside Lindsay Lohanwill get a sequel.
“It’s going to happen. Without saying if there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you right now and I say with absolute certainty, ‘Of course it’s going to happen’. It’s going to happen,'” Curtis confirmed.
It is worth remembering that, last year, both Jamie how much Lindsay expressed interest in returning to the roles of Tess and Anna in a possible sequel to the classic Disney film. In October 2022, Jamie Lee declared for The View that he already had a script idea ready, where his character would be a grandmother and would switch bodies again with his daughter.
“Let me be the grandmother! Let me be the old grandma who switches places,” she continued. “So Lindsay becomes the sexy grandma, who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you’d be happy with Mark Harmon. And simply put, I’d like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I’d like to see myself try to deal with today’s kids.”
Already lohan commented on a possible new “Freaky Friday” movie during his appearance on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. At the time, she said:
“I was on set filming [Uma Quedinha de Natal] when Jamie Lee Curtis wrote to me, and I was immediately excited and distracted. I read ‘Freaky Friday 2’ and got even more excited”.
Released in 2003, “Friday Freaky” shows the conflict due to differences between Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis), a bossy mother, and her daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan), a rebellious teenager. However, the relationship between the two undergoes a new challenge after they eat a fortune cookie in a Chinese restaurant, where they end up switching bodies and need to learn to deal with each other so that the magic is reversed.
