Check out stunning realistic portrayals of villains like Captain Hook, Cruella, Ursula and the Evil Queen by Jirka Väätäinen
Responsible for taking the peace of the good guys through evil plans and impulsive actions, Disney villains are portrayed in a very caricatured way in animations, where often, their mere presence intimidates everyone who observes them. But would they be that imposing in real life?
the finnish artist Jirka Väätäinen clarified this question through a series of illustrations entitled ‘Disney characters in real life’ (or Disney Characters in real life, in free translation), where he portrayed some of the main antagonists of the Mickey Mouse House stories as if they really existed outside from the world of fiction.
The project that was published through the official account of jirka on Instagram brings together artwork from iconic figures such as Cruella from ‘101 Dalmatians’, Ursula from ‘The Little Mermaid’ and the Evil Queen seen in ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, as well as several other perverse villains. Check out!
1. Cruella De Vil — Os 101 Dalmatians (1996)
2. The Mother Gothel — Tangled (2011)

3. prince hans — Frozen (2014)

4. jafar — Aladdin (1992)

5. Ursula — The Little Mermaid (1989)

6. Evil queen — Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938)

7. Captain Hook — Peter Pan (1953)

8. Maleficent — Sleeping Beauty (1959)

9. Hades — Hercules (1997)

It is also worth mentioning that jirka works as a designer, illustrator and art director, and has been sharing realistic versions of Disney characters for some years now, where he has already shared with his followers what princesses like Merida, Pocahontas, Moana, Bella and many others would look like in real life.
Furthermore, in another of his projects, Väätainen published portraits recreated by him of the parents of some of the studio’s most beloved figures, such as Cassim, Aladdin’s father, Triton, Ariel’s father and Zeus, Hercules’ father.
