“The Daily Show” is back with its first guest host Leslie Jones, and she’s not holding back.
Into the a teaser skit for Tuesday episode, the “Saturday Night Live” alum was asked by “The Daily Show” correspondent Roy Wood Jr. about a group of “white people in politics” he was supposed to meet for his hosting gig.
They started with a photo of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
“Oh my God, death. A melting candle. Someone is dying right in front of me,” Jones said.
“Actually, that’s true,” said Wood Jr. “Mitch McConnell, too.”
Next, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.).
“He seems to be talking to the manager a lot,” Jones said.
Jones is the first in a string of weekly guests for the Comedy Central show, following the departure of former host Trevor Noah in December. The network said it would not name a new permanent host until the fall.
