According to him, the net volume of discovered oil reserves is 150 million barrels. This energy resource is estimated at 12 billion dollars.
“This is one of the 10 largest fields discovered onshore in 2022,” the Turkish leader said in a televised statement following a Turkish government meeting.
Erdogan added that from four wells in this region, with very high quality oil, 5,000 barrels of oil are produced per day.
He said that the daily production of Turkish national oil company Türkiye Petrolleri, which was around 40,000 barrels five years ago, has now increased to 65,000 barrels per day.
At the same time, Turkey plans to increase daily oil production to 100,000 barrels through additional seismic surveys, increased drilling work and the introduction of methods to increase productivity.
“In 2021 alone, 34 more fields were discovered, and we added another 71 million barrels to our current reserves,” Erdogan said.
Recall that a new gas field was discovered in the Kharkiv region. The exploration well was drilled from June to October. The field has promising resources of up to 5 billion cubic meters.
