An explosion occurred in the area of the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol in the Zaporozhye region, as a result of which the bridge supports were damaged. The so-called “administration” of the Russian invaders announced this last night.
“At about 22:00, a diversion took place in the area of the vehicle bridge in the village of Konstantinovka, Melitopol district, Zaporozhye region. As a result of the explosion, the piers of the bridge were damaged,” the report said.
At the same time, it was stated that the bridge was not destroyed, but at the moment the movement through it was suspended.
Also, the network has a video of the consequences of the explosion. The footage shows that the roadway has sunk a lot.
At the exit from Melitopol, near the village of Konstantinovka, the Molochnaya River flows, the length of the bridge over it is about 130 m. The road goes to Berdyansk on the coast of the Sea of Azov in the east of the Zaporozhye region.
The bridge was built in 1969 and extensively renovated in 2021.
On the eve it became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the bridge in Melitopol. At the same time, Ukrainian artillery heavily hit various locations in the Zaporozhye region.
