According to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the Peruvian economy recorded growth of 1.66% in September.
Growth was mainly due to good work sector agriculture (2.53%), electricity (4.61%), construction (3.12%), housing and restaurants (10.15%).
However, this is the second lowest economic growth recorded this year. Thus, GDP continues to slow down after the highest monthly growth of the year, which occurred in February.
Economic growth in September is only higher than in July, when national production rose by 1.60%.
Industries that contracted in September were Finance & Insurance, Mining & Hydrocarbons, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Fisheries.
For example, in the case of fisheries, there is a lower level of harvest of species of marine origin, especially for direct human consumption, canning, frozen and fresh consumption.
Moreover, in the sector booty and hydrocarbons, decreased exploitation of liquefied natural gas, crude oil and natural gas has been reported.
