Washington sent a $1.5 billion grant to Kyiv through the World Bank Trust Fund.
The United States filled the state budget of Ukraine with a grant in the amount of one and a half billion dollars. This is the latest tranche of $4.5 billion in grant funds provided by Washington through the World Bank Trust Fund. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance on Saturday, September 17.
The money was provided as part of the Public Expenditure Support project to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine.
The funds will be directed to the reimbursement of expenses incurred by the budget to provide pension payments and certain state social assistance programs, such as payment for housing and community services, support for low-income families income, disabled children and disabled from childhood, IDPs, the ministry noted.
“This will allow us to continue to ensure the payment of wages, social and pension payments and assistance to internally displaced persons in the fight against the aggressor,” the head of the department Sergei Marchenko stressed.
According to the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the war with Russia, Ukraine has received $17.422 billion from partners, or 52% of declared aid totaling $33.325 billion.
It should be noted that the World Bank in November may approve additional financial assistance for Ukraine for one billion dollars.
