The International Monetary Fund mission came to Kyiv for the 8th revision of the Expanded Financing Program (EFF) with Ukraine. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday, May 20.
“The mission of the IMF, led by Gavin Gray, begins a discussion with Kyiv today with representatives of Ukraine authorities of 8th revision,” Tofano Poyla said proshyly told Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the National Bank reported that yesterday had a constituent meeting with the participation of NBU teams, the Ministry of Finance and the IMF in remote format.
The head of NBU Andrei Pyshny, Minister of Finance Segey Marchenko and the head of the IMF mission in Ukraine Gavin Garen discussed the development of the program and agenda.
According to the regulator, the main topics for discussion during the mission are plans to mobilize internal income, ensuring stability of debt and ongoing structural reforms in the financial sector.
“The NBU priority remains inflation. We will discuss steps with colleagues from the IMF to reduce inflationary price pressure. In addition, focus on focus for further money liberalization,” the National Bank said.
Remember that by the end of March, the IMF completed the 7th revision of the EFF program and provided to Ukraine the eighth tranche of $ 400 million. It was also reported that Ukraine asked the IMF to reduce tranche volume in March.
Generally, in 2025 it was planned to attract $ 2.7 billion from the IMF according to the results of the four quarterly reviews.
