The government formed a supervisory board of State Concern Forests of Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the candidates for the positions of members of the supervisory board of the state-owned company Ukrainian forests, The supervisory board includes three independent members and one state representative. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.

The candidacies of Markijan Vitvicki, Roberts Stripnieks and Harjunpää Janne Risto Samuel have been agreed for the positions of independent members of the supervisory board. Alexey Kucher was appointed as a state representative.

Markiyan Vitvitsky worked at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry of Canada and is a member of the Board of the Canadian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

Roberts Stripnieks is the chairman of the supervisory board and general director of the state joint-stock company Latvian state forest, member of the executive board and audit committee of the European Association of State Forestry Managers. Worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Latvia.

Jann Harjunpää works as General Manager of the Eastern Office of Finnish Industry. Became a member of the supervisory board Oschadbankexpert and consultant to the IMF and World Bank.

Alexey Kucher heads the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine. He is the head of the Kharkov Regional State Administration, a representative of the people of Ukraine of the ninth assembly.

According to First Deputy Minister of Economy Alexei Sobolev, the formation of the supervisory board Forests of Ukraine will introduce high standards of corporate governance that will meet the requirements of the law and OECD guidelines. The work of an independent supervisory board will increase the level of trust of the company on the part of international partners and potential investors.
