The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased to 42.40 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate increased to 44.40 Hryvnia.
The cash exchange rate of the Hryvnia dropped significantly against the dollar and the euro on New Year’s Eve. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Monday, December 30.
So, the average dollar selling rate in Ukraine immediately increased by 20 kopecks – 42.40 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate also increased by 20 kopecks to 44.40 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.90 hryvnia, and euros for 43.70 hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.96-41.99 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 1 kopeck compared to the previous day’s close.
On Friday, the National Bank of Ukraine increased the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate after three days of consecutive decline – 41.9403 UAH (+0.0956 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.7479 UAH (+0.2357 UAH).
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
Earlier in December, the dollar exchange rate repeatedly updated record levels against the hryvnia. Overall, since the beginning of 2024, the dollar at the official exchange rate has increased in price by 10.4% or by UAH 3.93.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
