The average dollar selling rate decreased to 42.20 hryvnia, while the euro exchange rate remained at 44.20 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate strengthened slightly against the dollar in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Thursday, December 26.
So, the average dollar selling rate in Ukraine decreased by 5 kopecks to 42.20 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate did not change – 44.20 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.70 UAH, and euros for 43.50 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.80-41.84 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 3 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
The National Bank reduced the dollar to hryvnia exchange rate for the second day in a row after a historic high of UAH 41.8623 (-0.1252 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.5159 UAH (-0.1175 UAH).
We remind you that last week the demand for foreign currency in the interbank market rose to its highest level since May 2022. The NBU sold a record 1.417 billion dollars on December 16-20.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
