The average dollar selling rate remained at 42.00 hryvnia, the euro exchange rate was 44.35 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate stopped declining against the dollar and the euro at the exchange offices. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Tuesday, December 17.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine remained at 42.00 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate – 44.35 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.50 Hryvnia, euros for 43.65 Hryvnia.
On the interbank market, the American currency added 2 kopecks in value and was at the level of 41.78-41.81 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
On Monday, the National Bank raised the dollar to Hryvnia exchange rate to a new historical high – UAH 41.7403 (+0.1333 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.8064 UAH (+0.0691 UAH).
Remind us that last week the NBU sold more than $1 billion in the interbank market – the highest volume in the past six months. Since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold more than $31 billion.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
