This is a very important contribution that will help finance major budget programs during the war, Denis Shmygal said.
Ukraine will receive $4.8 billion under the PEACE project from the World Bank. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this on the social network X on Friday, November 22.
“This is a very important contribution that helps fund major wartime budget programs. Thank you to the United States and development partners who are funding this aid, which provides critical support to our country and the our people,” Shmygal wrote.
Separately, the head of government thanked the leadership of the World Bank for their unwavering support for Ukraine.
Let’s recall that on November 8, Ukraine and the World Bank entered into a grant agreement to raise approximately $1.37 billion within the framework of the PEACE project in Ukraine to finance social and humanitarian expenses.
The World Bank will also create a special fund for Ukraine, its size will be at least $10 billion.
