To begin with, three cities are protesting the compatibility of 5G with military equipment, noted by Mikhail Fedorov.
A pilot project to use 5G communication is starting in Ukraine. It will be implemented in two stages, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transform Mikhail Fedorov said on Telegram on Friday, November 1.
According to him, the government has adopted a change in the regulation on the use of radio frequencies.
“We are launching a pilot 5G in Ukraine.
He noted that during the tests, the National Commission for Regulation of Electronic Communications (NKEC) and the Ukrainian State Radio Frequency Center will examine whether 5G equipment affects the operation of military networks.
Fedorov recalled that 5G is capable of transmitting data 10 times faster than 4G. This creates new opportunities for exchanging a lot of information.
“This is one of the main steps towards the full rollout of 5G in Ukraine, which we plan to complete by 2030,” the official emphasized.
According to him, the Government Decree will allow operators to use the 2100 MHz frequency not only for 3G, but also for 2G and 4G. At the same time, stopping the use of frequencies 694-862 MHz for analogue and digital television will free them up for mobile communications.
Earlier it became known that a new high-speed Wi-Fi 6E technology will be introduced in Ukraine. The conditions for applying the latest standard to radio equipment will be similar to those in Europe.
