The statement by Vladimir Velichko, an independent member of Centrenergo’s supervisory board, about a possible return to blackout schedules is his personal opinion, the company said.
On Friday, the media spread information that blackouts would return to Ukraine next week. But the situation in the energy system is stable, Centrenergo reported on November 1.
It is indicated that now information has emerged related to an independent member of the supervisory board of Centrenergo, Vladimir Velichko, about a possible return to the blackout schedules due to a noticeable cold snap in Ukraine.
“The statement of Vladimir Velichko is his personal opinion and does not reflect the position of the legal service of Centrenergo which is now considering the possibility of contacting law enforcement agencies with a request to verify the purpose and events that led to the publication of false information during the active autumn-winter period,” the statement said.
The company said that determining schedules is the sole competence of Ukrenergo. Now the situation in the energy system is stable, and power engineers have done everything possible to ensure the operation of the equipment during the autumn-winter period.
As you know, Ukrenergo is preparing several scenarios for the winter of 2024-2025 in Ukraine. They warned that it would be difficult.
We remind you that the National Security and Defense Council expects large-scale attacks on the Russian energy sector. The enemy may resume the attack at the beginning of the warm-up period.
