When you try to download drivers for video cards from the company’s official website, an access error message appears.
The famous American manufacturer of video cards for computers, NVIDIA, has blocked users from Russia and Belarus from updating drivers for the official website. Now the only option left for Russians is to do it from third-party sites or via VPN. Russian propaganda and specialized technical media reported this on Wednesday, October 23.
In particular, users from the Russian Federation and Belarus said that when they tried to download drivers from the company’s official website, an access error message appeared.
Additionally, when opening the download page, it reports that the download request is blocked by the Edgecast WAF firewall. GeForce Experience also blocks the download of driver updates.
Russian publications complain that NVIDIA’s decision has made life difficult for owners of laptops with GeForce discrete video memory, as well as for those with corresponding video cards installed in personal computers. However, Russians still have the opportunity to update drivers through Microsoft catalogs or from pirated sources.
Let’s remember that in June NVIDIA was recognized as the most valuable company in the world. It is ahead of Microsoft and Apple.
As reported, Nvidia will finally leave the Russian market in 2022.
