The Nordic-Baltic Eight countries will provide additional aid to Ukraine before winter.
The foreign ministers of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) countries signed an aid package for Ukraine worth 44 million euros. The funds will be used to purchase generators and solar panels. Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergaard announced this at a briefing in Odessa, Ukrinform reported on Wednesday, October 16.
“We have signed a package of another 44 million euros to help you close the energy infrastructure gap. We are your North-Baltic partners and will support you. We will also build air defense forces and strengthen your economy,” he said.
Sweden has invested 28 million euros in this package. Since the beginning of the war, the country has given Ukraine support of 5 billion euros.
We remind you that the foreign ministers of Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia and Denmark (Nordic-Baltic Eight) arrived in Odessa. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry discussed with them the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense and energy security capabilities on the eve of winter and the Victory Plan.
