European aerospace corporation Airbus will cut up to 2,500 jobs in its defense and space division. This is stated in the company’s message.
It is planned to change the organizational structure of the division, taking into account the preservation of a complex functional organization, especially in the space segment, where write-offs were recorded in 2023 and 2024.
It is noted that Airbus has structured the division with great attention to the organizational side, especially the headquarters function.
The planned measures are expected to lead to the reduction of up to 2.5 thousand jobs in the defense and space division by mid-2026.
It was reported that in the second quarter of this year, Airbus write-offs related to the postponement of a number of defense and space division programs reached 989 million euros.
The corporation also reported that the Airbus UpNext division and the Japanese Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation have agreed to cooperate and exchange experience in the field of superconducting technologies for future hydrogen-fueled aircraft.
We remind you that the European aerospace corporation Airbus SE has received orders for 152 aircraft worth $24 billion from Philippine Cebu Air, owner of the Cebu Pacific airline.
It was also reported that Airbus delivered 735 civil aircraft last year. This is 11% more than a year earlier.
