On Tuesday, October 15, the launch of the Falcon 9 vehicle launched two batches of 43 mini-satellites into orbit to replace the orbital constellation of the global Internet coverage network of the Starlink system. This was reported by the press service of SpaceX.
The rocket with 23 vehicles was launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Center in Florida. About an hour later, the satellites, separated from the carrier’s second stage, entered orbit.
The second launch of the Falcon 9 rocket with 20 Starlink satellites took place at the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. About an hour later, the satellites also entered orbit.
Since May 2019, SpaceX has launched more than 7,000 satellites as part of the Starlink project. Some of them failed or went out of orbit. About 6,400 devices are in operation.
SpaceX is the world’s largest satellite operator. The Starlink Internet network is available to users in 72 countries on five continents.
