The Ukraine Constitution does not include the possibility of “surrendering territories” or “land trade”, the President emphasized.
Any territorial issues should be discussed only by the leaders of the countries during a tripartite meeting. But Russia has not yet shown signs that are ready. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in Brussels on Sunday, August 17th.
The head of the state recalled that Russia had no significant success in the Donetsk region despite all its efforts. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has not been able to achieve this territory for 12 years. And the Ukraine Constitution prohibits the delivery of territories or any territorial auction.
“Because the territory issue is very important, it should be discussed only by Ukraine and Russia leaders during the Ukraine-Russia tripartite meeting. So far, Russia does not show any signs that the Tripartite meeting will take place. And if Russia refuses, then new penalties are required,” Zelensky said.
Remember, according to special US president Steve Whitkoff, the leaders of the United States and Russia have agreed to “reliable security guarantees” for Ukraine.
Zelensky said the security guarantee for Ukraine after the end of the war should work as Article 5 of NATO, responsible for collective security and protection in the event of a attack in one of the countries. Ukraine considers entering the EU as part of the security guarantee.
The media has published a list of “peaceful” conditions of Putin
