Ukraine signed a fourth additional agreement with the Canadian government for an additional loan in the amount of 400 million Canadian dollars (about $300 million equivalent). The Ministry of Finance announced this on Friday, October 11.
It is indicated that the loan is given for a period of 10 years, the interest rate is 1.5% per year. The grace period is 4.5 years from the date of receipt of funds.
Funding under the concluded agreement is aimed at ensuring priority expenditures of the state budget of Ukraine. The funds will arrive through the IMF’s administrative account in the near future.
“Canada is one of the leaders in supporting Ukraine and a strategic partner that has provided significant assistance since the first days of the mass invasion since February 2022 amounting to more than $5 billion,” said Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko , who signed the agreement.
We remind you that in September Canada began training the Ukrainians on the F-16. Pilots will undergo training according to a standard program, which lasts 6 months and includes 50 real flights. Canada has allocated approximately $300 million to finance this program.
