86-year-old Indian businessman Ratan Tata, who led the family conglomerate Tata Group for more than two decades, has died. This was reported by Reuters news agency.

Ratan Tata was born in 1937, studied architecture in the USA, and then worked in various positions in various conglomerate companies and headed the board of directors of the Tata Group in 1991, a post held him until 2012.
During his leadership, the conglomerate acquired several iconic international assets, including steel firm Corus, British car brands Jaguar and Land Rover, and the world’s second largest tea company, Tetley.
Currently, the Tata Group, whose history goes back 155 years, has more than a hundred companies that employ approximately 660 thousand people in production.
