The number of cogeneration units available to Ukrainian enterprises is 169. At the same time, 83 of them have already been implemented.
Ukraine’s international partners financed, within the framework of the Energy Support Fund, the purchase of distributed generation equipment with a capacity of 170 MW. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this in a press conference on Tuesday, September 10.
Using the Energy Support Fund, where they have already accumulated 560 million euros, the partners financed the purchase of distributed generation equipment with a capacity of 170 MW for Ukraine.
Shmygal noted that the number of cogeneration units available to Ukrainian enterprises is 169. At the same time, 83 of them have already been implemented.
In addition, the partners confirmed the delivery of another 291 units and 101 block-modular boiler houses. The head of government called it a reserve of “sustainability in the generation of electricity and heat.”
At the same time, the prime minister explained that the urgent need for generation facilities is still great, although their number “is no longer measured in tens of thousands, as it was last year.”
“The total demand for high-power generators is about 1,800 units, and we still need 569 cogeneration units,” Shmyhal said.
He assured that the government is working to get the necessary equipment and is doing everything to get through the winter season.
We remind you that Ukraine, with the help of partners, intends to build up to 1 gigawatt of gas-fired maneuverable generation by 2024 and another 4 gigawatts in the coming years.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that in Ukraine only 27% of large thermal power plants remain operational, and the rest were damaged or destroyed as a result of enemy shelling.
