Following the results of the eight months of 2024, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased the production of cast iron by 21%, to 4.7 million tons, steel – by 31%, to 5.2 million tons, combined products – by 27%, up to 4.3 million tons.
On Tuesday, September 10, Ukrmetallurgprom announced the results of the Ukrainian metallurgical industry for the eight months of 2024.
In general, more than eight months the metallurgical industry has shown stable production growth.
So, according to the data, in January-August the following was done:

cast iron 4.73 million tons (121.1% compared to January-August 2023);

iron 5.27 million tons (130.8%);

products combined 4.32 million tons (126.6%).
In August, steel production fell to 690.7 thousand tons, which was the lowest figure in the past five months. Smaller volumes were last recorded in March this year – 610,900 tons.
We would like to remind you that Metinvest previously calculated the necessary amount of steel to restore Ukraine. In order to restore the destroyed housing and social infrastructure in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion, approximately 3.5 million tons of steel are required.
