The city will receive additional emergency generation systems, which will allow it to operate even when disconnected from the main electricity grid.
In Kharkov, it is planned to install more than 100 MW of distribution generation to ensure the stability of the city’s energy system. This is what Energy Minister German Galushchenko told the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, July 19.
Galushchenko said that the city will receive additional emergency generation systems, which will allow it to work even when disconnected from the main electricity grid.
“Look, in general, there are many different types of headquarters working in Kharkov. We have a clear plan for generation, a clear plan for additional emergency generation systems to be installed so that the city will work even if it is cut off from the power grid,” he explained.
The minister assured that more than 100 MW will be distributed across the city.
We remind you that Ukraine, with the help of partners, intends to build up to 1 gigawatt of gas-fired maneuverable generation by 2024 and another 4 gigawatts in the coming years.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said that in Ukraine only 27% of large thermal power plants remain operational, and the rest were damaged or destroyed as a result of enemy shelling.
